PSEUDO FIRST ORDER REACTION:
There are so many reaction where more than one reactants are involved but the reaction follows first order kinetics. Such type of reactants are called PSEUDO FIRST ORDER reaction.
Ex: 1. Acid catalysed ester hydrolysis.
2. Inversion of Cane sugar.
3. Ester +H3O+ = Alcohol + Acid
rate = K[ester] [H3O+]
Here water is used in large excess and its concentration almost remain unchanged so concentration of H3O+ can be taken as constant.
rate = K1 [ester] where K1=K [H30+]
1st Order rate equation
K1= K[H3O+] .....(i)
Some time it can be written as
K=Ksp [H3O+]
-logK= -logKsp - log[H3O+]
